Amazing When I Think About It

I just realized its been 8 months since I’ve had a hamburger, a soda,  chips, or sweets. I remember the first couple of nights in January. I almost cried trying to stay away from the fridge, but somehow I did.

I couldn’t eat any of that stuff now, its totaly lost its appeal. I realized I’ve eaten more veggies, and fruits in the last 8 months, than in the previous 47 years, of my life. I crave them! How did that happen? Well, it did somehow.

I wish I could help everyone feel the way I feel.  Stay with it please. In due time you’ll be spending too much time in front of the mirror, because you’re amazed at the way you look. And that’s a good thing! Onward and downward folks! Goodnight.

Goal Reached! But Sticking Around

Hey buddies . Lost the weight I need to. I will stick around here though. Need the inspiration to keep it off. I really have come to enjoy weightlifting, so i think I’ve got a fair chance not to gain again.

I have graduated to the body building. com forums. Mostly young men who are big into building muscle, and getting into flame wars.  Testostrone flowing everywhere, LOL!

If you are just starting out, the most important thing is to commit to it. So many have come and gone, but those of us who have stayed, have seen  our lives turned around.  Getting fit will improve every area of your life, physical, mental, emotional, even spirtual. I promise.

Habits And Changes

I feel for all of you who are struggling with cravings and withdrawels. I was there too. But don’t give up on eating healthy. The cravings will go away if you stick with it. I used to take a weekly cheat day. Soon that became a once a month thing. Now I don’t even need that, because the healthy food tastes so much better. There is no reward value in eating junk, because my habits have changed.

This process took me seven months. If you can stick to it, you will be there too. Time goes quickly when your getting healthy, believe me. And don’t fear that you’ll suffer. You won’t. You’ll feel better, and better, everyday. Do it!

Cheat Free Holiday!

Made it through another holiday witout cheating. Still had a great time. Skipped the hot dogs and funnel cakes at the fireworks. The red grapes were just as enjoyable.  Got my workout in, was not lazy! Need to set new goal weight. Maybe another 10 pounds.

Major Breakthrough

I have not been able to run or ride an excercise bike since I had a major injury 7 years ago. Yesterday at the therapy clinic I go to, I tried a recumbent bike. I was able to get the pedals all the way around.

I got so excited, I raided my savings account,  went to the nearest large town, and bought one. Last night, I had the best cardio work out in seven years! If I lift weights one day, and do 45 minutes on the bike, this stubborn last bit of belly fat should disappear.

Who knows, maybe I’ll have a six pack stomach in a year!

The Proverbial Monkey Wrench

Thrown into my workout! Got up to lift yesterday and my upper back was very sore. Skipped the workout, and it’s still a little tender today, So I will wait till Monday. Hope I don’t lose muscle. I’ll do some yoga, before retiring tonight.

My wifes car was backed into, and there’s a $500 deductable. Also had to take one of my cats to the vet. Poor thing had a UTI, and that was another$130, but I don’t mind that so much, as long as he is okay.

The devil has me in his sights, trying to steal my attitude. But he can go back to hell, it won’t work. HAPPY! HAPPY! JOY! JOY! : ) : )

Failure Is An Option!

Tried something new this morning to jumpstart my muscle growth. You do 3 sets of  weightlifting to failure. (where you cannot perform another rep.) Did 3 x 20 Squats, 3 x 14 bench presses, 3 x 11 overhead presses, and 3 x  15 barbell curls.  By the time it is through, I pretty much crawled away from my exercise room, but this will really get my metabalism going.

I’m started to really get excited when I stand in front of the mirror. I’m seeing muscles pop up everywhere. Much better than last year, when I’ll I had was a spare tire to look at! Everyone have a good day today. Work hard, and stick to your eating plan!

Nobody Here Is Fat

We are overweight, or have a condition known as obesity. I read too many people saying, I’m fat, I’m ugly, i feel discusting. That won’t work. If you don’t feel good, and confident about yourself, you are not going to have any sucess in losing weight. Instead, tell yourself, I am not where I need to be, to be at my best. Feeling Like Rocky!

Its getting to be hot and humid here in West Tenn, so I’ve moved my workouts to very early morning. Forced myself to go to bed at halftime, of the NBA championship last night. (Very hard for a guy to do!)

Was up at 5 this morning. Mixed myself a protein shake with a banana and a raw egg, and stepped out in the grey dawn for a 4 mile walk. Felt like that scence in Rocky where he gets up early to run. Back to the weights tommorow. Everyone have a great weekend.

Did Anyone See Oprah Today?

And the lady who lost 503lbs? I’m not kidding! She used to weigh over 700, and took most of it off. There were several others who have lost 200 and 300 lbs.  And I whine about that last 2 lbs I can’t lose!
